A COVENTRY man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in the city on Sunday (October 2) night.

Officers were called to the Holyhead pub, Holyhead Road, at around 7.40pm following reports that a man had been stabbed in the stomach.

Adrian Brock, of Lower Precinct, Coventry, was arrested near to the scene.

Officers worked quickly to gather evidence and press charges against the 44-year-old.

He has been remanded in police custody and will appear before Coventry magistrates this morning (October 4).

The 32-year-old victim was taken to hospital for treatment and his condition is described as stable.

This appears to be a targeted incident and police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
