Coventry man charged over shotguns, ammunition and machete

Coventry Editorial 27th Dec, 2023   0

A COVENTRY man has been charged after police recovered two shotguns, ammunition and a machete in the city.

The weapons were found near an abandoned car which had earlier failed to stop for officers – in Austin Drive – on Saturday night.

Junior Dube, aged 21 and from Coventry, was arrested shortly afterwards and has since been charged with possession of shotguns, having a knife and ammunition.

He was remanded and appeared before Birmingham Magistrates Court yesterday (Boxing Day).

Earlier this year, West Midlands Police launched Operation Target in a defiant stand against serious crime.

Enquiries into this latest incident are continuing and anyone with information should contact West Midlands Police via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk or by calling 101.
