Coventry man charged with terrorism offence

A COVENTRY man has been charged with a terrorism offence by detectives.

The development follows an investigation by Counter Terrorism Policing West Midlands CTU.

Mohamad Al Bared,  26, will appear via video link at Westminster Magistrates Court tomorrow (Tuesday, February 7) on suspicion of engaging in conduct in preparation for terrorism under section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

Al Bared was arrested last Tuesday, January 31 at an address in the city.




Three other people who were also arrested – a 58-year old woman and two men aged 57 and 18– have been released without charge.
