A RAPIST from Coventry who attacked a young boy has been jailed for more than 20 years.

Jonathan Philp, of The Monks Croft, was convicted in July after he pleaded guilty to a number of sex offences against the boy.

Having been remanded in custody after his conviction, he was sentenced on September 2 to 22 years in prison as well as being given a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We know that reporting rape, sexual assault or another sexual crime like indecent exposure or upskirting can be daunting. We’re here to support you whether you’re ready to report it to us or if you’d prefer to talk to someone else.

“If you want to talk it through before deciding whether to report to us, you can talk to a Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC), an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor service (ISVA) or another support service.”
