A COVENTRY drug dealer has been jailed for three years after being caught dealing in Nuneaton.

Kenan Kelly was sentenced after pleading guilty to possession of class A and class B drugs with intent to supply.

The 25-year-old was arrested on December 29 when officers carried out a curfew check at a flat in Heath End Road, Nuneaton.

After knocking on the door they saw movement inside so went to the back of the flats where they saw Kelly escaping from the property via a window, and after giving chase they detained him.

They were made aware of a bag Kelly had discarded which contained £1000 of cocaine and he was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply.

Kelly was searched further leading to police uncovering cannabis.

Det Constable Dan Stanton from Nuneaton Proactive CID said: “We welcome this sentencing for Kelly, who is now paying for his crime that causes so much harm and violence in our communities.

“This was excellent policing by our response colleagues who were alert to suspicious activity in the property and responded quickly to locate and arrest Kelly.”
