Coventry mum spent £150 a week on Red Bull addiction

A COVENTRY woman who drank 24 cans of Red Bull a day has given up her ‘wings’ after turning to hypnosis to cure her addiction.

Mum-of-three Sarah Weatherill became hooked on the high caffeine drink when studying for her law degree – spending over £150 a week to feed her addiction.

At its worst, the Longford resident was totally dependent – refusing to get out of bed until she got her fix and drinking the caffeine equivalent of 48 cups of coffee a day.

Feeling lethargic, depressed and constantly anxious, Sarah knew she had a problem that was severely damaging her health.

But, thanks to just one 50 minute session with Earlsdon-based hypnotherapist, David Kilmurry, she has kicked her habit.

Sarah said she had ‘no idea’ how her addiction spiralled out of control.

“I used to buy a can here and there just to give me a boost and then the next thing it’s a full blown habit which I suffered with depression for.

“There would be times when I would get palpitations and shakes but I think I just got used to the caffeine.”

Cutting down slowly to eight cans a day in the run up to the hypnosis – as coming off so much caffeine could have caused a seizure – Sarah is now completely cured of her addiction.

“I am convinced I won’t have another can,” she added.

“I feel like a different person.”
