A NETBALL tournament at the University of Warwick, which featured gold medalist Ama Agbeze, has raised £32,000 for national cancer charity ‘Look Good, Feel Better’.

The annual charity contest was hosted by England Netball at the university’s Sports and Wellness Hub with more than 260 people participating across 26 teams.

Look Good Feel Better supports both men and women undergoing cancer treatment and celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

Ama – a former captain of England Netball team – helped host the tournament, along with Ash Dekker (Seven Stars) and Millie Sanders (Strathclyde Siren) who are both potential future roses.

The three players helped coach and provided expertise and encouragement and enthusiasm throughout the day.

Ash from England Netball said it was a privilege to be part of the fundraiser.

“I loved how competitive the tournament was and there was some great netball on show.

“It was also evident how passionate the players were about contributing to a life changing cause.

“I couldn’t be happier with the total raised, it’s a real testament to a successful and thoroughly enjoyable day.”

Look Good Feel Better helps men and women manage the physical and emotional side effects of cancer treatments.

Their services are free to anyone facing cancer and their workshops are either in person or virtual, all led by trained volunteers.
