A DOG was attacked and killed by another dog one Monday morning in Coventry.

Arthur, a 15 year-old terrier parsons lived in a residential area with his two owners, where he enjoyed a happy loving life.

At 8am on June, 24, Arthur was attacked by a neighbourhood German Shepard who had escaped from its garden.

Arthur’s dog dad said: “I expected him to die in my arms gracially, not mulled to death by another dog.

“We have both had our hearts torn out by this, especially the way it happened.”

The owner of the German Shepard said that he would ‘get rid of the dog’ – West Midlands Police are investigating the matter, as well as the dog warden.

Arthur’s owner added: “Our biggest concern is whether this dog could differentiate between another small dog (which apparently is where his aggression is directed) or a small child in the split second it attacked.

“This is a private residential area, things like this shouldn’t be happening – if the dog got out once, it is going to get out again.”

West Midlands Police said: “We are investigating this matter and officers have visited the owners of both dogs involved.

“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with more information can contact us via 101 or Live Chat quoting log 717 of 24 June.”
