A BEDWORTH man has been arrested following a reported incident of assault and criminal damage at a pub in Nuneaton.
The 43-year-old man was arrested yesterday (November 6) following the reported incident at the pub on Abbey Street.
Police were called at around 9:40pm after reports of a man allegedly being disruptive at the pub.
After allegedly having been drinking for some time, the man reportedly hit one member of the public in the face with a menu.
After reportedly being escorted from the venue by members of staff, he allegedly began trying to smash the windows of the venue, broke a glass bottle against the outside wall, and smashed one of the chairs.
The man was arrested shortly after on suspicion of criminal damage and common assault.
PC Trotter said: “Pubs are not creches for delinquents – they should not have to tolerate patrons throwing a tantrum once they’ve been asked to leave.
“If you think you’ve hit the point of one too many, it might be time to go home.”
