Celebration time at Coventry school after £1.5million revamp

Coventry Editorial 28th Oct, 2023   0

IT was celebration time at Finham Park 2 school as staff, students and governors marked the completion of a £1.5million revamp.

The secondary school’s refurbishment included new specialist classrooms and a new multi-use games pitch, which allows Finham Park 2 to accommodate an additional 60 pupils.

Two new design and technology classrooms have been created in the school’s Edwards Keep building, along with a new STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) room.

Students can also make the most of a new food technology classroom, which is set to be kitted out with the latest modern appliances.

Most of the work was completed over the summer break and the new spaces are ready to be used by students at the Tile Hill school.

Finham Park 2 headteacher Will Keddie said: “The new facilities will help us equip our young people with the skills they need to directly support the needs of the economy here in Coventry.

“Students here have been really enthused by the facilities and I think if you create an environment that supports the mindset of being valued, it will be reflected in how they approach the subjects and their work.

“It’s critical schools can reflect the future careers that young people will be going into, and investments like this supports us to do that.”
