STAFF at a Coventry community eye hospital are celebrating after being given an ‘outstanding’ rating by the Care and Quality Commission (CQC).
Based at Binley Business Park, CHEC is a community-based provider of ophthalmology services and works with the NHS to reduce waiting times.
Following a thorough evaluation process, the hospital was found to achieve exceptional performance in safety, effectiveness, care, responsiveness, and leadership.
Its free Home to Hospital pick-up service was particularly praised by judges.
CHEC first opened its doors to patients in Coventry in July 2021 and has since consulted more than 11,400 patients and carried out over 5,700 cataract surgeries.
