COVENTRY’S first-ever Baby Week has been hailed a ‘great success’ in helping newborns and families in communities across the city.
The week featured 55 events designed for babies and their parents and caregivers with hundreds of new parents attending.
It sought to highlight the importance of the first 1,001 days of a child’s life from conception to two years old and helped ensure that Coventry’s children receive the resources they need to thrive.
Around 150 people attended the launch of the 50 Things to Do Before You’re Five app, which is now available to download via Apple and Google.
Organisations gave away 1,000 goodie bags with essentials to help baby health, and there were activities including singing, rhyme time, sensory play, baby massage, a puppet show, play dough and active tots.
There were also information sessions by midwives and health visitors, buggy walks, and a visit from Dippy the Dinosaur.
And the week ended with a family showcase event at Butts Park Arena.
