Coventry bus service axed - The Coventry Observer

Coventry bus service axed

Coventry Editorial 1st Oct, 2023   0

THE NUMBER 19 bus service in Coventry has been axed, Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) has confirmed.

The service, which serves between Tile Hill and Coventry via Cannon Park Shopping Centre, has been withdrawn due to low passenger numbers, higher operating costs and changes in travel patterns.

A TfWM spokesperson said this meant it could no longer provide value for money for the taxpayer.

The route is partially replaced by the number 2 service.

A TfWM spokesperson said the ring-and-ride service can also provide an alternative for those who are eligible.

This is one of three services axed across the region, while 32 more will be changed.

Other routes will also have timetable changes and some new operators.

The changes to the bus services will come into effect from October 29.

Visit tfwm.org.uk/service-changes for more information on the bus changes.
