A COVENTRY accountancy firm pledged thousands to Midlands charity to feed homeless children.

Advancetrack have launched a charity partnership with Midland Langar Seva Society and given an initial £5,000.

The charity provide hot food and drink to vulnerable and homeless children across the country.

The money was funded through damages paid by a competitor who infringed the company’s trademark – it will support around 180 people a day.

GI Outsourcing had to pay Advancetrack £50,000, all of which has been donated to various charities.

MD Vipul Sheth said: “It was great to see the positive impact the team at Midland Langar have had on the community since being founded in 2013, and we’re looking forward to helping them in their vital work providing essentials no one should ever have to live without.

“As a business, we’re dedicated to making a positive impact on our local area, and linking up with the brilliant MLSS is another step in that journey.

“We’ve always maintained that winning our high court battle was never about the money – it was about holding our industry to higher standards and fighting for accountability, transparency and honesty in the accounting sector.

“That’s why we decided it was vital that all of the damages will go in their entirety to worthy organisations like MLSS to support the vital work they do.”

MLSS is built on the foundation of ‘Langar’ – a hallmark of the Sikh faith meaning ‘free community kitchen’.

Bhupinder ‘Pops’ Heer, community hub manager at MLSS, said: “Our aim is to change people’s lives for the better and show our users that they are not alone and are cared for, providing them with hope and tackling poverty head on.

“Given issues such as the rising cost of living, our services are more in demand than ever, so literally every penny counts.”
