A COVENTRY based charity has installed a defibrillator in memory of Lee Rogerson MBE, who passed away from a heart attack last year at 53 years old.
The Light House has tributed Lee’s significant contributions to the community and his long-time support for the organisation.
Lee was a supporter and former employee of The Light House, a charity established in 1986 to offer professional, affordable counselling services to the people of Coventry.
In addition to his work with the charity, Lee founded and ran Street Talk Ltd. an organisation focused on assisting marginalised young people at risk of anti-social behaviour.
He was also a freelance filmmaker for the Universities of Birmingham, Manchester, and Warwick.
Lee died in February 2023 from a heart attack, leaving behind his wife, Rachael, their three sons, and his sister, Tina.
Following Lee’s passing, cash for the defibrillator were raised by his family and The Light House.
The defibrillator has now been installed and is accessible 24/7 to anyone.
Since its installation, it has already been used twice.
Julie Lancaster, agency manager of The Light House said: “Lee Rogerson was a valued and respected member of The Light House team.
“During his time here, he counselled many people and his work in the Marriage Support Unit enabled many couples to seek early intervention help for their marriage.
“Lee was a man who was invested in the welfare of people and was caring of the community.
“The defibrillator is our way of honouring him and will also provide a facility that will benefit the local community.”
Lee’s wife Rachael added: “Lee spent his whole life caring about others, whether he had known them a long time or they had just met.
“This defibrillator is a fitting tribute to Lee and a reminder of the years he gave in service to others.”
