COVENTRY Cat Group has has received a £1,000 donation as part of Benefact Group’s Movement for Good Awards.

The volunteer-run charity care for and re-home abandoned or feral cats and kittens and works with the local community to promote awareness of general cat welfare.

The donation will be used for food and other essentials which sustain the cats in their care.

Coventry Cat Group said they have noticed a decline in donations since the cost-of-living crisis resources are stretched.

Lin McManus, centre manager at Coventry Cat Group, said: “This award will make a significant contribution to our work rescuing and rehoming abandoned and feral cats.

Time, love, and patience can heal the hardest heart.”

Benefact Group’s Movement for Good Awards is giving away over £1million to charities across the year – members of the public can nominate charities close to their hearts.

The group has donated over £200million to charitable causes since 2014 and aims to reach £250million in donations by 2025.

Movement for Good is funded by EIO plc, part of the Benefact Group.
