Coventry City fans urged to plan journey for FA Cup clash due to motorway closures

COVENTRY City supporters gearing up for Saturday’s much-anticipated Emirates FA Cup Quarter Final against Wolverhampton Wanderers are advised to plan their journeys carefully due to a pre-planned closure of the M6 junction 10 northbound exit slip road.

With a sell-out away contingent of 4,812 fans expected to make the journey, the closure, scheduled from 9pm on Friday, March 15, to 6am on Monday, March 18, is set to impact travel plans for many supporters heading to Molineux Stadium.

Traffic will be diverted to Junction 11 on the M6, where drivers will then need to rejoin the M6 southbound before exiting at junction 10 southbound slip road.

Ahead of the 12:15pm kick-off on Saturday, Sky Blues has been informed of travel advice for fans opting for rail transport.

Supporters are encouraged to travel from Coventry to Wolverhampton railway station, avoiding road delays.

The recommendation to avoid the tram system, which operates from outside Birmingham New Street station to Wolverhampton railway station, is due to expectations of large numbers of West Bromwich Albion and Bristol City supporters utilising the same route for their match at the Hawthorns on the same day at 3pm.
