COVENTRY City Football Club is gearing up to celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD) during its upcoming match against Rotherham United this Tuesday.
The Sky Blues are set to commemorate the day by recognising the pivotal roles played by women across various aspects of the club, from supporters to employees and participants.
Women hold significant positions throughout Coventry City Football Club, serving in functions ranging from performance and fitness to operations and finance.
In recent years, there has been a notable increase in the presence of women and girls at Sky Blues matches, with programmes aimed at fostering inclusivity and safety for female supporters.
Coventry City has actively supported campaigns such as Her Game Too, dedicated to improving the match-day environment for female fans.
During Tuesday’s match, players from Coventry City Women and Girls FC will shake the giant flag and serve as ball collectors during the match.
The club will display messages of support for IWD 2024 on the big screen, tannoy announcements, and the match-day program.
