A COVENTRY purpose-built student accommodation has invested in mental health first aid training for its general managers.
Collegiate UK staff members in Coventry participated in the first aid course facilitated by MHFA England, which aimed to equip managers with skills to recognise and respond effectively to mental health challenges among residents.
The course will be rolled out to all general managers until each site has at least one trained person capable of providing mental health guidance and support.
Students already have round-the-clock access to mental health resources and counselling services with the companies partnership with ‘Health Assured’ and ‘Student Minds’.
Wendy Garrett, MHFA mental health first aid instructor said: “It was fantastic to be back in the classroom delivering to enthusiastic learners who truly want to make a difference to the student experience.”
Neil Burton, managing director of Collegiate UK, added: “The physical and mental wellbeing of our employees and residents is of paramount importance.
“This training and investment further illustrate our commitment to providing access to the right levels of support, whenever or wherever needed.”
