Coventry Green Party announced candidates for General Election

COVENTRY Green Party announced its general election candidates for all three Coventry constituencies standing on July, 4.

Coventry North West constituency will see Esther Reeves stand, for South it will be Anne Patterson and standing for East will be Stephen Gray.

Esther, who has lived in the city for most of her life said she has been working as a local councillor for Holbrooks and she plans to fight for all children to get good education, especially those with special needs.

Esther added that she wants to keep green spaces around Coventry, and for a fairer future for everyone.

She added: “The cost of living is on all our minds, so I would push for a Universal Basic Income, with extra support for people with disabilities. In the meantime we urgently need to increase the Minimum Living Wage and Universal Income payments.”

Anne has also lived in the area most of her life and is an NHS worker, she said she is a working to raise awareness of the effect of climate crisis on the local environment and rivers.

She said: “As an NHS worker, I am very aware of the challenges facing health and social care, so I strongly support the Green Party commitment to defend the NHS, and would make sure everyone has access to free healthcare when and where they need it.”

Stephen moved to Coventry as a student and said he is passionate about energy efficiency and reducing bills.
