A COVENTRY landlord has been fined for failing to give information to the council about a suspected unlicensed HMO (house in multiple occupation).

On January 24, 2023, a council environmental health officer inspected the suspected HMO.

The authority served the landlord with a Requisition for Information Notice, requiring him to produce documents for them.

However, the landlord failed to respond to both of the notices.

He was found guilty in his absence at Birmingham and Solihull Magistrates’ Court on January 19.

He was fined £770 for the offences and ordered to pay £300 in court costs alongside a £308 victim surcharge.
