A COVENTRY man has been jailed for six months for persistently harrassing his neighbours.
Ranjit Sadra would knock on doors at 3am asking for money and would aggressively beg in the streets around Cheylesmore.
He would also approach people in the street and tell them a fake heart-breaking story about having family members in hospital and needing money to get there.
Having been given £20 by one of his victims, Sadra turned up at their address demanding even more money, saying he had been to hospital and needed more money to be able to go back.
West Midlands officers questioned Sadra who said he needed the money to buy drugs and intended to pay the money back.
The 45-year-old has been jailed for six weeks after being convicted of harassment and has triggered a suspended sentence from 2023 meaning he will serve six months behind bars.
