CHIEF Constable joined men’s mental health walking group ‘Back and Forth’ and has been awarded funding to help put on events.
PC Dan Phillips from West Midlands Police in Coventry set up the group earlier this year in memory of former colleague Marc Forth.
The group has continued its regular meet-ups and walks, raising awareness for men’s mental health.
On May, 19 they were joined by Chief Constable Craig Guildford at Draycote Water where friends and family of current and former officers also turned up in support.
Back and Forth PC Phillips said: “We were thrilled to have the Chief Constable supporting us on Sunday and delighted to see so many people taking part on a warm, sunny morning.
“We have been nominated by Team Police and Virgin Media O2 Business to be recipients of sponsorship money they are raising throughout May as National Walking Month.
“We have now also been awarded National Lottery Funding, meaning we have some revenue to help with costs and putting on events, one of which is a family fun day in July.”
