A COVENTRY park has received top score from Visit England after a recent quality assessment.
Coombe Abbey Park, the city council owned venue will be nominated for a Gold Accolade after having a score of 93 per cent.
The new facilities such as the newly opened places toilets, Pay and Play for children, Climbing Forest and Go Ape were praised in the assessment.
The assessment also congratulated the free attractions including the initiation of the Memorial Trail, gardens, arboretum, Old Deer Park, Wildflower meadow and Bird Hide.
The Information Centre and Discovery Centre were both mentioned for the collections of guides, maps and interactive information.
Coun Abdul Khan, deputy leader of the Council, said: “We all know how much local people and visitors enjoy the fantastic experience of visiting Coombe Abbey Park.
“I was there recently and there is so much for people to enjoy and it is a really spectacular venue.
“I’m delighted that judges from Visit England have given the park such high praise, and fingers crossed that it will achieve the golden accolade it richly deserves.”
