Coventry school celebrates remarkable turnaround in 'Good' Ofsted

A COVENTRY school is celebrating a remarkable turnaround in its fortunes after it was rated as good in its latest Ofsted inspection.

Woodfield School, which specialises in social, emotional and mental health, was given its positive report just under four years after being rated as inadequate.

The school has been supported by the Sidney Stringer Multi-Academy Trust since February 2021.

Ofsted inspectors commented on how far the school had come during that time in their report.

Inspectors also praised school leaders for paying serious attention to pupils’ academic achievement as well as to their social development.

Woodfield is one of the largest SEMH schools in the country, catering for 149 pupils between the ages of 5-16, many of which have previously struggled in mainstream education.

Principal Nico De Groot said: “We are committed to continuing this incredibly positive trajectory and continue to aspire to be the best specialist SEMH setting, in the country.

“We will be relentless in ensuring our children receive the very best education.

“We are proud that this passion and dedication to our young people shone through so clearly during our inspection.”
