A TEENAGER from Coventry had a pleasant surprise after getting an unexpected call during an exam- he had won a £35,000 car and cash prize from an online competition.

Training electrician, Kye Tierney, 18, found out he won a Volkswagen T-roc and a £2,000 cash prize during his practical electricians exam.

He received the prize from BOTB, which hands over the keys to a dream car each week as well as a lifestyle prize.

Kye said: “It feels amazing to have won and I was lost for words when I found out.

“I had just started the exam so I was already feeling a bit nervous.

“I had to carry on with my exam afterwards but was really struggling to concentrate as I was buzzing.

“I have had my heart set on becoming an electrician since I left school and I would love to do an apprenticeship.”

Kye added the win has come at a good time as he is due to take his driving test soon.

“The day I entered the competition, I had booked my driving test which I had been trying to do for ages.”
