WARWICK University’s Quidditch Club brought a touch of magic to Joseph Cash Primary School in Coventry as they visited the school to introduce students to the enchanting world of Quidditch.

The visit aimed to teach the young students the rules of the game and spark their imagination through the beloved sport featured in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series.

The Quidditch team, recently honoured with the British Quadball Cup in 2023, showcased their skills and shared their passion for the game with eager learners at the school.

Four members of the team took the time to engage with the students, explaining the rules and demonstrating various aspects of Quidditch.

The visit was particularly meaningful for the Year Four students at the school, who had recently delved into the magical realm of Harry Potter through their reading curriculum.

Inspired by the adventures of Harry, Hermione, and Ron, the students were excited to learn about Quidditch firsthand from real-life players.

The students were tasked with writing a newspaper report about the experience, drawing on their newfound knowledge and imagination.

Janine Nettey, assistant headteacher at Joseph Cash said: “It was great for the children to experience an opportunity to work with inspirational people in the community to inspire their writing.”

Through the guidance of the Warwick University Quidditch Club, the young wizards and witches of Coventry embarked on their own magical journey, fuelled by the power of imagination and teamwork.

David, one student who took part, said: “I really enjoyed playing quidditch, my favourite position was seeker. It was really hard trying to catch the snitch as they kept on trying to get away from you.”
