Coventry's Vaisakhi Sports Festival and Mela returns this bank holiday

COVENTRY’s War Memorial Park is gearing up to host a vibrant celebration of culture, sports, and community spirit as the Vaisakhi Sports Festival and Mela returns on Sunday, May 5, from 9am to 5pm.

With a jam-packed schedule of events and activities, this annual extravaganza promises fun and excitement for all ages.

To kickstart the festivities, registration for participation will take place at Coventry Gurdwaras on April 28, between 11am and 1pm.

On the day of the event, families can look forward to a wide array of fun-filled activities, including football, volleyball, hockey, track events, tug of war, rugby exhibition matches, rounders, kabaddi, gatkha demonstrations, and much more.

In addition to the sporting action, there will be an assortment of culinary delights from food stalls offering a variety of dishes.




As well as a funfair with rides and attractions to keep the adrenaline flowing.

A highlight of the event is the provision of Langar, a communal meal, which will be available all day provided by Sikh Gurdwaras.
