COVENTRY Music Museum had a fantastic 10th birthday present from TripAdvisor as they were named one of the top 20 hidden gems on the international travel site.

The museum stands shoulder to shoulder-with famous venues such as Birmingham’s Back to Backs and The Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar on the exclusive list and is the only Coventry attraction to be named.

It has picked up 1,217 excellent reviews on TripAdvisor out of the 1,310 posted on the site, and it remains in the top spot in the 77 things to do in Coventry list.

It is also ranked 13th in the things to do in the West Midlands list and still has five stars on the site after ten years.

The museum celebrated its 10th birthday today (Saturday, November 4) with a DJ set from The Specials founder Jerry Dammers.

Curator Pete Chambers BEM said: “We are so proud to be here in such an exclusive list, we are by definition a small museum, but with a big heart that beats with the music of our area.

“I want to thank all our volunteers, visitors and anyone who has supported us.

“We are a museum for the fans created by the fans and proud to be part of the famous 2-Tone village, although we celebrate all types of music in our museum”.
