COVENTRY Blaze and the family of Dayle Keen, known as Keeno, extended their gratitude to the community for the overwhelming support following the tragic loss of Dayle.
Dayle worked as the assistant coach for the ice hockey team and passed away at aged 33 on February, 26 2024.
In a touching tribute, the Blaze and keeno’s family thanked everyone who contributed to the bucket collection at their home game against Cardiff Devils and the online GoFundMe campaign set up in Keeno’s honour.
The bucket collection held at the Skydome during the game raised £1,160 while the GoFundMe campaign raised £7,370.
After a small transaction fee fro the website the combined effort raised £8,260.50 in his memory.
On behalf of Dayle’s Mum Kay, brother Jamie, Bobby (brother of Dayle’s Dad who passed away November 2023), sister Daryll wrote:
“Our family would like to send a huge thank you to the Coventry Blaze family, the wider hockey community, and to anyone else who generously donated to the GoFundMe page that was so kindly set up in honour of our beloved Dayle Keen, as well as the bucket donations from the Skydome.
“We are totally overwhelmed at the contributions made by you all, and for taking the time to make these contributions.
“While we are all still grieving our incomprehensible loss, we find comfort in knowing that Dayle had a profound impact on many lives and the donations will go towards ways in which we can honour Dayle’s legacy, and the hearts and souls of those he touched.
“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.”
