FRIDAYS Coventry has appealed for help as it looks to spread some Christmas cheer around the city by producing a ‘one pound panto.’
The play will be held between December 4 and December 9 at Coventry Methodist Central Hall and will be available to enter for just £1.
It aims to be able to give all the city’s youngsters the chance to see an affordable pantomime as many struggle due to the cost of living crisis.
To put on the fun-filled Christmas panto, Fridays is looking to raise £3,500 on a JustGiving page.
So far, almost £1,800 has been raised towards the play.
Fridays Coventry was formed in 2019 to prevent knife crime and gang violence in the city.
The charity hopes to turn the £1 panto into an annual event.
A charity spokesperson said: “Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to our Fridays Pound Panto so far, everyone at Fridays Coventry is astonished and so grateful.
“Please donate if it’s a possibility, a lot of young people and families may struggle this year to provide Christmas spirits due to the cost of living crisis.”
