A RALLYING call has been made to give a courageous Coventry teenager diagnosed with a brain tumour three months of adventures before she undergoes life-changing surgery.
City youngster Roxy was just 14 years old when she started getting strange sensations freezing her mobility and soon after began having seizures.
She kept it quiet, but a few months later she had a huge seizure, which was witnessed by her dad.
She was initially diagnosed with epilepsy and after months of hospital appointments, scans and meetings, the youngster was diagnosed with a brain tumour.
The 15-year-old has now been told she will need brain surgery and there is a possibility she could end up in a wheelchair with a permanent weakness in her leg.
To help make the wait for the surgery less daunting and to create memories for her and her loved ones, Roxy’s aunt Hayley Benton has set up a GoFundMe page.
Since being set up earlier this month, the page has raised almost £3,500, smashing the initial £500 target.
Hayley said: “I can’t believe the support Roxy has received, we are so grateful to everyone who has donated, it means the absolute world to her.
“She is an amazing niece, she is strong beautiful smart and courageous.
“Roxy is about to head into the hardest challenge so far in her life – we won’t know what will happen to her until she is in surgery.
“We would love it if you would help us create funds for her to make some real memories and enjoy some adventures before she has her surgery.
“We have a roughly three-month window before the surgery so we would love it if anyone could help us raise funds to create as many memories as possible during that time.”
