A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 50-year-old woman died in Coventry yesterday (March 20).
Police were called to an address on Long Close Avenue, Coventry, at around 8.30pm, where a woman was found with injuries, and she was confirmed dead shortly after.
A 57-year-old man – understood to be known to the woman – has been arrested and taken into custody for questioning.
A cordon has been put in place while enquiries continue.
Det Insp Michelle Cordell said: “A woman has tragically lost her life and our thoughts are with her loved ones and all those impacted by her passing.
“We understand that it will be shocking and distressing for the community and we will continue to have a police presence and offer our support in the area over the coming days.
“A suspect has been arrested and detectives are fully investigating the circumstances around this sad death.”
