MERIDEN MP Saqib Bhatti took a leap of faith to raise funds for a baby loss charity.
Mr Bhatti completed a skydive in aid of the Lily Mae Foundation, which offers a one to one Baby Loss Support Service and baby boxes as well as a number of other projects aimed to help those who have lost a baby to stillbirth, neonatal death, miscarriage or medical termination.
He smashed his original target of £1,000 and raised more than £3,500 for the Balsall Common-based charity.
This was the Conservative MP’s second jump – his first was in 2019 to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.
Mr Bhatti said: “Thank you so much to everyone who donated to my campaign for the Lily Mae Foundation.
“Your support allowed me to exceed my fundraising target and will help the foundation with all the amazing work it does.
“Improving awareness of baby loss and making sure that bereaved parents receive the support they need is so important.
“I have had the pleasure of witnessing the remarkable work carried out by the team at the Lily Mae Foundation and it is a privilege to offer them my support.”
The Lily Mae Foundation was founded by Amy and Ryan Jackson after the tragic loss of their baby girl, Lily Mae in 2010 at Solihull Hospital.
Last year they celebrated their 10th anniversary, having helped more than 1,000 parents, distributing over 4,000 memory boxes and support siblings during difficult times.

“We really value Saqib’s support, helping us to continue to provide much-needed support programmes to those parents and families when suffering the devastating loss of their baby.”
