COVENTRY Lord Mayor Coun Jaswant Singh Birdi attended the official opening of a new home care company, Home Instead Coventry North and Bedworth.
The home will give older locals the chance to stay living at home if they require care.
Biro Dhillon, transitioned from a career as a solicitor to start the care business tailored to the unique needs of elderly people and their families.
The company offers a range of services, including personal care, companionship, and assistance with daily tasks.
Professionals are assigned to clients based on similar interests, enabling the pair to bond and develop a meaningful relationship.
Biro said: “It was an honour to host the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress in a special event marking the opening of Home Instead Coventry North.
“I know that they feel strongly about giving older people more options when it comes to receiving care, and I’m delighted to widen the social care provision in the area.”
She added that in her previous role she saw clients at home in the last few weeks of their lives and it became clear that they wanted to stay in their own homes.
“The choice to stay at home, even if your health and wellbeing declines significantly, should always be there.”
