A RALLYING call has been made for volunteers to help plant commemorative trees as the latest part of a community project to spruce up Keresley Jubilee Wood.
The tree planting will take place on Wednesday, November 29 between 10am and midday, during which volunteers will also be asked to help clean up the wood.
The day has been organised by Keresley Parish Council, which will also hold a tree-planting ceremony at a later date.
The three-hectare wood in Watery Lane was created to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012.
The authority has been regularly holding ‘community action days’ to maintain, improve and rejuvenate the green space since last year.
Last year’s run of action days was planned to return the area to its former glory for the Platinum Jubilee.
