A STUNNING new mural made partly from recycled materials has been unveiled at the Foleshill Families for All Hub.
The artwork was created by members of the Hub’s Wellbeing on Wednesdays group, who worked with local artist Andrea Mbarushimana.
It is over four metres long and has been inspired by Foleshill’s families and nature, depicting houses in the area surrounded by wildlife and people.
The mural was part of the ‘Artist on My Street’ project, which worked with over 30 local children, young people and their families in workshops to inspire creativity and pride in Foleshill’s culture and heritage.
Techniques used included painting, creative writing, and recycled textiles to explore themes of home, family, culture, nature, and gratitude.
Andrea said: “I had a lovely summer with families from Foleshill, and I was blown away by the enthusiasm for these workshops and the creativity people responded with.
“I’m proud of the artwork we have created together, which brings back happy memories and is a reminder of the kind of positive community we can build together.”
