THREE people have been arrested and more than £12,000 worth of class A drugs has been taken off Coventry’s streets as part of a crackdown in St Michael’s.
Officers on Far Gosford Street spotted a suspected drug deal shortly after 4.30pm yesterday (December 3), after which three people fled the scene.
Officers were able to quickly track down and arrest a 28-year-old man as well as seize large amounts of wraps of suspected crack cocaine and heroin which had been thrown into a bin.
Following this, a search was carried out at an address in the city where another 28-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were arrested and more drugs were found.
All three people arrested remain in custody on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
Police in St Michael’s have stepped up patrols in and around the city centre ahead of Christmas.
