Three charged as part of crackdown on Coventry break-ins

THREE people have been charged after a series of Coventry break-ins as part of a police crackdown on crime in the city.

Yesterday (April 10), police detained a man and woman over a residential break-in off Foleshill Road on March 23.

Mohammed Samywand, aged 37, and Georgina Ashley, 34, both from Coventry, have now been charged with the burglary.

They were remanded to appear before Coventry Magistrates Court today (April 11).

Officers also carried out enquiries over several burglaries in the city over the last month.




David Niculae from Coventry was detained last Friday.

The 24-year-old was charged with residential burglaries on Clara Street on March 19, Brighton Street on March 22 and Coventry Street on April 1.


He appeared before Coventry Magistrates Court on Monday (April 8) and was remanded to appear before Warwick Crown Court on May 9.
