A WARRANT against suspected modern-day slavery has been carried out in Coventry after intelligence believed exploitation may be taking place at a site on Foleshill Road.
The warrant was carried out on September 21 alongside the British Red Cross, the Medaille Trust, Coventry City Council, the West Midlands Anti-Slavery Network and the Licensing team.
Two people were identified as being of concern and were offered help, but they were confirmed as working in Coventry legally and were returned to the site shortly afterwards.
An investigation is continuing to find out if more potential victims are involved.
Modern-day slavery involves people being trafficked to the UK and being forced to work illegally.
They are often given low or unpaid work such as car washing, but it can also range from supervising cannabis farms to prostitution.
