AN NHS team from Coventry and Warwickshire who have supported children and young people with their mental health challenges have scooped a prestigious prize at the Nursing Times Workforce Awards.
The Think Family Outreach team (TFOT) claimed the Workforce Team of the Year prize at a national awards ceremony in London, impressing judges for their innovation, value, leadership, collaboration and adaptability.
The team is a part of RISE, a children’s mental health service at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust.
The TFOT was set up last January and supports youngsters who may need crisis intervention at home or in the hospital who are moving into RISE’s community mental health spaces from the Home Treatment team.
Their support bridges the gap between crisis and core services and is tailored to help each youngster’s individual needs.
Mel Coombes MBE, Chief Executive for Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust, said: “It really is a testament to the outstanding work the team does to support children, young people and their families, making sure nobody falls between gaps in our mental health services.
“This will be a huge source of pride for the team, for RISE as a whole and for the entire trust.”
