COVENTRY and Warwickshire Reinvestment Trust (CWRT) has provided a £14.2million boost to the local economy, which has safeguarded 339 jobs and is expected to create 248 more.
More than £4.3million worth of loans have been distributed to SMEs throughout last year through the not-for-profit lender, with almost £1million of this going to women-led businesses.
The CWRT is also one of the Recovery Loan Schemes delivery partners having gained accreditation from the British Business Bank.
And 40 new businesses have been created through CWRTs Jumpstart workshops.
Sheridan Sulskis, CEO at CWRT, said: “The JumpStart project has been instrumental in assisting those that continue to feel the effects caused by the pandemic by offering specifically designed free workshops to those that have recently been made redundant, on less contracted hours, households that had a dramatic loss of income and need to utilise their skills or turn their passions into a business to generate a source of income.
“The workshops allowed those considering setting up a business to meet in one space – learn together, share ideas and network.”
