A ‘Sky Blues at Wembley’ souvenir pull-out accompanies the special Coventry Observer print edition and online e-edition this week – and is out today (Thursday).
The wrap-around supplement kicks off our special Wembley edition, which contains much more Sky Blues news inside ahead of the big match.
It contains words from Coventry City boss Mark Robins ahead of the big day on Sunday at the national stadium, where his team take on fellow League One outfit Oxford United.
Our pull-out also contains a full exclusive interview with 1987 FA Cup hero Keith Houchen. His goals in that cup run, culminating in his famous diving header at Wembley, have immortalised him in Coventry and football folklore.
Your Coventry Observer Sky Blues at Wembley pull-out also contains a poster, and guidance on the great Wembley occasion – when over 43,000 Coventry fans are expected in a 70,000-plus crowd for the Checkatrade Trophy Final (kick-off 2.30pm).
Wembley fever is gripping the city as the Sky Blues return to Wembley for the first time in 30 years.
It’s been a long time to wait for those who count May 16, 1987 as being among the greatest days in their lives, and for younger generations who have never been to Wembley.
We at the Coventry Observer wish the lads good luck in the hope they can bring back the Trophy. But, above all else, we are rallying behind the call for everyone to enjoy a very special occasion, which does not come around often. Long-suffering Sky Blues fans from far and wide deserve it.
Keep viewing our website news and sport sections for our continuing rolling Wembley coverage up to and including the big day, when our reporters will be covering the game live.
And our photographer Jon Mullis will be wearing an exclusive photographers’ Wembley ‘red bib’ – giving Coventry Observer readers a special access-all-areas view.
