Coventry Oddfellows on the look out for new members

Coventry Editorial 17th Jun, 2023   0

COVENTRY Oddfellows is inviting new retirees looking to explore the city and make new friends to join them.

The friendship group helps elderly people who are feeling isolated or lonely to interact with new people that live close to them and experience new places and activities.

The society’s members explore Coventry’s attractions, dine out, or enjoy walks together.

They will be gathering for a coffee at ‘Love a Latte’ on June 28 and at ‘Badgers Tea Rooms’ at the end of next month.

Branch Secretary Christine Luckett said: “Most of our members are retired, so they find they have more free time to do things that they’ve not had time to do before.

However, sometimes their friends are still working, or they don’t have a like-minded person to share the experience with- that’s where we come in.”

“Visiting new places together is a great way to get to know new people as there’s always something to talk about.”
