Coventry police officer found guilty of assault faces disciplinary hearing

A COVENTRY police officer is facing a disciplinary hearing for gross misconduct after he was found guilty of assault.

A statement from West Midlands Police reads: “PC Vinny Jassi will appear before a special case hearing panel for gross misconduct starting on 8 August 2017 chaired by CC Dave Thompson.

“PC Jassi, from Coventry Neighbourhood Policing Unit, was found guilty of common assault at Birmingham Magistrates Court on 13 July and sentenced to a 12 month community order, 300 hours of unpaid work, £620 costs and £85 victim surcharge.

“The hearing is currently scheduled to last for one day, starting at 2pm and will take place at:
