POLICE in Coventry are hoping to bring some Christmas cheer to the Hillfields area with a free open air cinema showing eight family-friendly festive films.
The St Michael’s neighbourhood police team will be staging an outdoor cinema in Hillfields Village Square across two weekends – December 5 and 6, then December 12 and 13.
Films will include Christmas classics from Home Alone to The Muppet’s Christmas Carol, Miracle on 34th Street and Nativity.
A police spokesperson said: “Many Christmas school parties, Nativity plays and trips to the local theatres to see the Christmas pantomimes have all been cancelled this year.
“Our outdoor cinema is 100 per cent Covid compliant. Each showing will be restricted to a maximum of 90 people, sat in pre-booked seats in blocks of six, with two metres between seating rows.
“All seating will be sanitised between showings on each day.
“Every child that attends will receive a goodie bag with crime prevention advice in and some snacks to eat while watching the cinema.” Local residents can book free tickets by contact PCSO Adam Bettison at [email protected] or text to 07391 019157.
