THOSE needing to pick up last minute Christmas parcels will be able to do so on Sunday throughout December.
Coventry North Delivery Office, on The Stampings, and Coventry South Delivery Office, on London Road, will be open from 12pm until 4pm as part of a drive to offer a more convenience service for picking up parcels during the festive season.
It will also lift pressures off the Royal Mail and help them to handle their Christmas mail bag.
More than 19,000 seasonal workers will also be recruited and ten additional parcel sort centres will be opened across the midlands.
Residents have also been reminded to post their packages early and have their Christmas cards and presents sent off before December 19 for second class mail, December 21 for first class post and December 23 for special delivery items.
People have also been reminded to ensure they use postcodes on their cards and parcels.
Tony Fox, Royal Mail’s operations director for east and south midlands, said in the offices Sundays were one of the most popular days for collecting parcels
“We are delighted to open even more offices to help everyone in the weeks leading up to Christmas Day,” he added.
