COVENTRY residents are being urged to volunteer for the annual poppy appeal for The Royal British Legion.
The appeal is held every October and November for remembrance, to raise cash for the armed forces community.
It relies on over 3,500 volunteers across the UK to run the appeal in their communities.
Claire Elliston, the poppy appeal manager for the Royal British Legion in Warwickshire, said: “We would encourage anyone who is interested in volunteering for the Poppy Appeal to get in touch with us to find out more.
“You will be fully supported in the role, including receiving training before the Poppy Appeal, and volunteering is a great way to meet new people, support your community and build your skills.”
Roles can include a couple hours of volunteering, to becoming a poppy appeal organiser.
