Coventry resource centre for the blind to be supported by Global

Coventry Editorial 27th Jun, 2023   0

COVENTRY Resource Centre for the Blind (CRCB) will be among 40 charities across the county to benefit from funding as part of this year’s globals ‘make some noise awards.’

The awards see Global, which runs radio stations including Capital and Smooth, raise money and awareness of charities across the country that support the most vulnerable in society.

The cash will help CRCB with its technology skills programmes.

The programmes are mostly run by visually impaired tutors and support people who need help using technology to stay connected in the world and remain as independent as possible.

The resource centre provides long-term support to blind and visually impaired adults in the city as well as their families and carers.

The Charity runs weekly classes to teach people skills such as braille, cooking safely and technology support as well as social and well-being activity sessions.
