AN AFRICAN catering business and restaurant celebrated its 10th anniversary in Coventry this week by opening a second eatery in the city.

AGG World Limited officially opened the doors of its second restaurant at 35 Far Gosford Street on Monday with a ribbon cutting by the Lord Mayor of Coventry, Coun Kevin Maton, a welcome speech by Damola Giwa and Olabodo Ariyo, along with music and, of course, food and refreshments.

Special guests of honour included the councillor for Binley and Willenhall and representatives from the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce.

AGG World Limited director Akintoye Giwa said he was excited about continuing to provide high-quality food, employment and community development for the people of Coventry via another outlet.

“The opening went really well – we had some really good feedback from everyone.”

He said the business strove to be at the centre of the Coventry community and he thanked the city council for the grants which helped the business during the Covid pandemic.

Throughout the week there has also been a number of other events, including the new restaurant hosting Nigerian business owners from Coventry and neighbouring cities, seminars and craft activities.

A free dinner was served for NHS doctors and nurses and an Islamic Youth Forum has taken place.

On Saturday, November 12, there is a friends and family event with a football tournament and on Sunday, November 13, there will be a Thanksgiving Service and official dedication.
